The Archaeological Geology Division of the Geological Society of America was organized to provide a forum for presentation of papers on archaeological geology and discussion of related problems, to stimulate research and teaching in archaeological geology, and to act as an organized group in promoting these objectives within the framework of the Geological Society of America.
