Southeastern Section

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Virgina, West Virginia, and Puerto Rico*.
*Note: The affiliation of the state of Louisiana
changed in 1997 from the Southeastern Section to the South-Central Section. Revised April 24, 2004 by Council to add Puerto Rico to the Southeastern Section.
The Southeastern Section was established in December 1947, but did not hold its first annual meeting until 1952. More information can be found at the Southeastern Section Web site (maintained separately).
The GSA Foundation has awarded $4,500 to each of the six GSA sections. The money, when combined with equal funds from the sections, is used to assist both undergraduate and graduate student members of GSA. Please contact the Section Secretary for more information.
Travel Grants We can help with the cost of student travel to GSA meetings. All eligible students
will receive some support, the amount depending on the number of applicants. |
Research GrantsWe will continue the student research grant program in 2006. The grants are competitive and available to both undergraduate and graduate students. Grants will be awarded in late May 2006. [ more details ] |
