We are seeking judges for this prestigious event, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, 9-10 May 2006.     GSA is co-sponsoring the American Meteorological Society's 86th Annual Meeting, 28 January-3 February 2006 in Atlanta at the World Congress Center.

    GSA is also co-sponsor of the 100th Anniversary Earthquake Conference, Joint meeting of SSA and EERI, 18-22 April 2006. GSA View Entire Calendarmembers are eligible for the member registration rate.

    GSA is helping to organize the Chinese International Conference on Continental Dynamics and Environmental Change of the Tibetan Plateau, 18-21 June 2006, Xining, Qinghai Province, China. The last date to register is 31 January 2006.

GSA Geophysics Division is seeking nominations for the George P. Woollard Award, given annually to recognize outstanding geology contributions through the application of the principles and techniques of geophysics.

Especially for Students

GSA is now accepting Research Grant Applications for 2006. The primary role of the GSA research grants program is to provide partial support of master's and doctoral thesis research in the geological sciences for graduate students at universities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America. In 2005, 45% of the applicants received funding with the average award being US$1533.
