IGC Travel Grant
Instructions:
The Geological Society of America, the Geological Society of America Foundation, and the U.S. National Committee for Geological Sciences announce a travel grant and mentoring program for graduate students and early career scientists (those within 7 years of receiving their terminal degree). To be eligible, applicants must be a resident or citizen of the United States or be enrolled in, or employed at, a U.S. institution. Each award is anticipated to be a maximum of $3,500.
The application deadline is 10 April 2024. Your complete application will consist of:
- An online resume/application.
- One letter of recommendation.
- A record of relevant courses and grades.
- A cover letter indicating (1) a brief overview of your background, (2) your plans for the future, (3) how you feel attending this meeting will help you accomplish these plans. (4) A prioritized budget, and (5) a copy of your abstract submission (along with confirmation number). You must be the first author on the abstract. Abstract deadline is 15 March 2024.
Applicants will be chosen by a committee who will strongly consider your cover letter, letter of recommendation, abstract, and course record.
