Position Description:
This is a natural resource management position located in the Division of Natural and Cultural Resources, Mount Rainier National Park, U.S. National Park Service. The intern will assist in conducting resource inventories of several mountain lakes in the remote Wilderness areas of Mount Rainier National Park. Geocorps participantwill assist in obtaining measurements of lake bathymetry, water levels, mapping shoreline and substrate, temperature, light transparency, chemistry, and other limnological measurements of the lake and lake watershed. Other duties may include the collection of field data associated with air quality monitoring. This position is offered through the Geological Society of America's GeoCorps America Program in partnership with the National Park Service’s Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Program.
