Position Description:
The participant will work indoors and outdoors. The participant will perform a variety of interpretive activities including visitor services in the visitor center (greeting visitors, roving interpretation, presenting geology/paleontology-themed programs, and fossil preparation demonstrations), assist with school group visits (in May, September, and October) and operate the park’s research/interpretive quarry in the Green River Formation under the direction of the park paleontologist (10 weekends June-August). Based on applicant’s skills, abilities and interests, projects may include exhibit design, pod casts, site-bulletins, or fossil surveys. This position is offered through the Geological Society of America's GeoCorps America Program in partnership with the National Park Service’s Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Program. There are 2 positions available under this description at this location during this season.
