Position Description:
The candidate will develop and present educational geology programs (walks, talks and illustrated programs) to the public and staff; provide geology training for staff and assist with creation of interpretive geology products. The majority of the position will involve interpretation and education (80%). Weekend work is required. Candidate will work at the Capitol Reef visitor center and participate with special events. Candidate will also participate with science projects in the park (20%). Science projects may include paleontological surveys, abandoned mine lands surveys and database management and/or creating geology products for park use. This position is offered through the Geological Society of America’s GeoCorps America Program in partnership with the National Park Service’s Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Program.
