Position Description:
The GeoCorps participant will assist the park Physical Scientist with the ongoing paleontological site inventory program; documenting new White River sites through photography and on-site data collection; and preparing, cataloging, and curating all significant specimens collected during cyclic fossil surveys of new as well as known sites being revisited. They will participate in two paleo field camps, one excavating a Hyracodon from a White River site and the other excavating an Ice Age carnivore den site in a cave. They will then help catalog the significant specimens collected during those camps. This position is offered through the Geological Society of America's GeoCorps America Program in partnership with the National Park Service’s Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Program.
