These interpretive programs include guided hikes, talks, children's programs and planetarium programs. Participant will develop and present a minimum of three programs on the geology of Rock Creek, climate change issues at the park or astronomy programs. Additionally, the intern will provide an "in-service" training for park staff on park geology; complete other tasks as assigned and staff the Nature Center Desk. Full training on interpretation, the National Park Service, and Rock Creek Park will be provided.This position is offered through the Geological Society of America's GeoCorps America Program in partnership with the National Park Service’s Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Program.
