Position Description:
The sea turtle and shorebird position duties include training and participation in GUIS sea turtle and shore bird monitoring. The incumbent will train with park staff to learn both sea turtle and shorebird monitoring methods and work as a member of the team in collecting sea turtle, shore bird, and night sky data. The skills and knowledge will then be used to develop sea turtle and shore bird outreach programs for visitors in the park as well as in the community. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the Science and Resource Stewardship division and the Resource Education Division. The participant will also be an ambassador for sea turtle and shore birds in the local community. This is a Mosaics in Science position. The Mosaics in Science Program is run in partnership with the National Park Service and The Geological Society of America.
