Participants will develop and present a minimum of three educational/interpretive programs describing the compelling geologic or ecological features and processes at work on Mount Rainier: volcanism, glaciology, stream aggradation, geo-hazards, lahars, forest or subalpine ecology, climate change, etc. Programs will explain complex scientific concepts in an engaging way for the general public to understand. Positions also include informal interpretation at visitor centers and during outdoor roving. These positions are offered through a partnership with the National Park Service’s Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Program, and The Geological Society of America’s GeoCorps America Program. Multiple participants may be selected for this project at this location during this season. To be considered for any of these positions, a candidate only needs to submit an application for this one.
