Public Land Name: Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park Position Title: Geoscience Assistant (Caves and Karst) Agency: NPS Position Type: GeoCorps Position ID Number: 2015603 Location: Hagerstown, MD Accepting Applications? # of current Applicants: 0 Position Description: The GeoCorps participant will work with staff from the park, West Virginia University (WVU), Temple University and Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MD DNR) to support ongoing research to evaluate threats to karst-RTE sites and prioritize sites for protection. He/she will work on a Cave Management Plan based on data collected as part of this research. As necessary, the participant may be asked to support field work or other geoscience work happening in the Division of Resource Management.
