Duties of this position include assisting with surveys to conduct long-term monitoring of birds at Denali National Park as well as ongoing avian research projects. The intern will conduct very early morning (2am) acoustic surveys for songbirds on and off-road in Denali and will assist in capturing birds for a migration study. The intern will be responsible for conducting field work as well as managing data and producing an education or outreach tool related to one of the avian studies.

Upon successful completion of the GIP internship, the participant is eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award. This position is offered through the National Park Service's Geoscientists-in-the-Parks Internship Program in partnership with Environmental Stewards and The Geological Society of America.
