Illustration of shallow sea-floor ecosystem in the terminal Ediacaran period, dominated by vermiform taxa. Included here are conjectural reconstructions of Cloudina, Gaojiashania, Wutubus, Corumbella, Namacalathus, Ernietta, and horizontal/near-surface burrows, in addition to Swartpuntia and nondescript frondose Ediacarans in the distance.
