GSA Field Camp Excellence Award This $10,000 award is given each year to a geology field camp that clearly focuses on the fundamentals of geologic mapping and field methods to assist with the summer field season. It is based on safety awareness, diversity, and technical excellence. Field Camps are only eligible to receive the award once. All applicants will be notified in late-April regarding whether or not you have received this award. Your complete application will consist of: an online application discussing the history of your field camp. Please indicate your plans for the future (short-term and long-term) and how you feel this award will benefit your field season. We are particularly interested in how you address safety awareness, how diverse your attendees are, and your course syllabus (i.e. technical excellence). Field camps that meet these criteria have the greatest chance of receiving this award: A traditional six week geology field camp, and Curriculum should focus on the fundamentals of geologic mapping and field methods.
