Committee Charge:
This committee initiates activities and programs that will increase opportunities for people of ethnic minority, women, and persons with disabilities including raising awareness in the geosciences community of the positive role these groups play within the geosciences. The committee is also charged with stimulating recruitment and promoting positive career development for these groups. Some current programs and awards that this committee is responsible for include the On To the Future program, Bromery Award for Minorities, and minority scholarships (dependent on funding).
Committee Requirements:
Members must be familiar with the employment issues these groups face; expertise and leadership experience in such areas as human resources and education is also desired.
Meetings and Time Commitment:
Meets at the Annual Meeting. Communicates by phone and/or electonically. |
