2015 Student Research Grants

                   Submission deadline: 2 February 2015 at 5 p.m. MST

GSA is proud to offer research grants to its highly qualified student members. The primary role of the
GSA research grants program is to provide partial support of master’s and doctoral thesis research in
the geological sciences for graduate students enrolled in universities in the United States, Canada,
Mexico, and Central America. In 2014, US$683,535 was awarded to 401 graduate students (52% of the
774 who applied), with an average grant of US$1,680.

Students may receive a total of two GSA graduate student grants in their entire academic career, regardless
of what program they are currently enrolled in. The maximum award per grant is US$2,500.

The GSA student research grant application process is available online only at www.geosociety.org/
grants/gradgrants.htm; no paper applications or letters will be accepted.

                                                                                                                                                                          ®
